Juggling Brands

As a man of many hobbies and interests, I run into a problem a lot. That problem is trying to juggle several brands and ideas at one time. I’ve got 2 Instagram Accounts, 3 Twitter accounts, 2 Xbox Live accounts, and 2 Twitch accounts. That’s a lot of stuff to try and manage at one time.

The plan going forward is to just focus on a couple things at a time and try to grow my brand and audience. Obviously, the 1V1 ME brand is going to be in the forefront as I already have a lot of things going on with it. The other brand that I will continue to work is my Galactic M3rc brand, which is focused on my actual gaming and will also include airsoft when I finally get into that later this year.

I’m trying to grow these brands so maybe eventually it can be something that I do full time. I have a love for writing and gaming and that is what I want to do moving forward. Granted, it is going to take time and effort to get there, so I have to keep slogging forward with my current job, the military, and everything else I have going on in life.

So, instead of trying to deal with everything in social media that I have been, I will be deleting all my Hybrd Cobra gaming profiles and anything that has to relate to that brand. If I can’t change a Hybrd Cobra name on a given platform like steam, MTG: Arena, etc. then it will stay on that platform, but from here on out all my profiles will be Galactic M3rc.

Once I have gone through with that I will have just 1 Twitter and Twitch account. I will keep both Instagram accounts for now as one is fitness related and the other is gaming and writing. As I keep building my gaming and writing account, however, I will start to phase out the fitness account and just upload everything onto the one.

What this will do is hopefully streamline my social media profiles and make it easier for people to find me and to find the account that I use the most. I want to build up a consistent and active audience and that’s pretty difficult when I have so many accounts.

How do you feel? Do you have the same problem as me? Do you think that I’m doing the right thing? Let me know in the comments below. Thank you as always for reading.

Doing this the right way

I’ve struggled to keep this blog going throughout the 2-3 years of me having it.  I have changed the scope of it so many times that I can’t really begin to count.  Well after taking a few marketing and branding courses, I have decided on what I’m going to do with it.

First, this blog started as a site for gaming and that’s what it will be going back to.  I have added life events, fitness, and many other subjects throughout the life cycle of this blog but that time is gone.  I will make posts related to games and gaming and that is all.

I have also set up an editorial calendar to keep myself on track with my posts.  I have set aside Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as dedicated post days.  That gives me plenty of time to research topics and actually write them out.  If I make more posts than that then it’s just a bonus for my readers.

I will also be building my brand on Facebook and Twitter.  I will post on those forums every day with at least one post a day on each.  Those posts can, in turn, be uploaded onto my blog as more content.  All of this is a strategy to build my brand more effectively.

The last thing I will be doing is writing short Ebooks.  The subject of these books will again be related to gaming and will all be written with a pen name, as my gaming brand isn’t associated with my actual writing brand.  The book ideas I have so far are A Beginners Guide to Streaming, A Beginners Guide to MOBAs, A Beginners Guide to Wargames, and So You Want to be a Pro Gamer.

If you have any suggestions or feedback I am always open to constructive criticism and ideas so let me know.  I am linking my gaming social media accounts below so be sure to check me out. As always this is Hybrd Cobra and see you on Monday with my first official post.
