Call of Duty Thoughts

So every year a new Call of Duty title is launched, and every year people start their grind all over again. This year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launched and it changed the basic mold of Call of Duty. Usually, you’ll get a single player campaign, multiplayer, and maybe zombies content. Well this year, Treyarch and Activision changed that mold. Instead of a single player campaign, the game launched with Blackout, a battle royale game mode to take advantage of the current battle royale trend.

Regardless of what you think about the change, it seems to be doing good things for Call of Duty. The people who don’t like to grind multiplayer now have a new mode to grind in Blackout. The majority of the people who play Blackout seem to love it, and multiplayer is more fun to most this year as well.

The big problem I’m seeing right now is that Blackout gets more attention than multiplayer in regards to updates and new content. This is good for the Blackout players but leaves the multiplayer crowd feeling left out and neglected. I feel they need to be making sure all the game modes receive the same attention to keep all modes feeling fresh and fun.

I personally think that they are doing a great job with this game, and since I constantly switch between the two modes it doesn’t upset me as it does a lot of other people. Let me know what you think if you’re a Call of Duty player. Does it make you upset or do you approve of the way the updates are being done at the moment? Let me know in the comments below and as always thank you for reading.
