I typically play games in every genre, ranging from first person shooters to massive multiplayer and building games. Everyone has their preferred genre or even genres, so I figured I would talk about mine.
Frankly for me I feel I have two genres that I prefer. First Person Shooters and Massive Multiplayer. Again I like most all genres, but if I had to pick two, those would probably be it.
I enjoy FPS games, because I can just turn them on, and play however many matches I feel like playing. I can do this by myself or invite friends in to completely eradicate some noobs. I feel it’s the best genre if you don’t have a whole lot of time to get on and play, it’s easier to find time for a couple rounds of team death match, than it is to boot up a match of SMITE or League.
Massively Multiplayer is definitely my favorite genre, with a few caveats. MMOs really encourage you to play with friends, especially during end game content. This makes playing by yourself difficult, as for most raids and dungeons you need a team that works well together and communicates. Most of these games have group finders, but you never know what kind of members you’re going to get, so its always better to play with friends.
Currently I’ve been playing a lot of Destiny 2, which is unique because it actually fills both of those genres. You play in FPS mode (except for when using swords or supers), and you have a lot of MMO elements such as public events and raids.
So there are my favorites, what are yours? Let me know in the comments below, and as usual thank you for reading.
